Everton winger Yannick Bolasie says he’s happy at Sporting CP.
After a slow start to his loan, Bolasie has found his feet and is impressing for the Portuguese giants. He struck in Sporting’s 4-0 win at Santa Clara last week and also featured in the weekend win at Portimonense. However, Bolasie was sent off in Saturday’s 4-2 win.
But going into the game, Bolasie reflected on his goalscoring performance at Santa Clara and how his loan spell with Sporting was progressing. And the midfielder admitted the agreeable weather of Lisbon was an attraction.
Quoted by O Jogo, Bolasie stated: “I’m enjoying being here, it’s not too cold, that’s the main thing.”
The 30 year-old DR Congo international admits he’s had to fight for his place at Sporting, where he feels under constant pressure from the wealth of young talent the club is famous for developing.
Bolasie added: “The team can change at any time, there are good young players here, nothing is guaranteed.”
Indeed, the midfielder is enjoying the environment and won’t rule out extending his stay. Bolasie signed for Sporting on a season-long loan – with no permanent option established – back in September.
Asked about his plans, Bolasie added: “Staying in Sporting? I don’t know, it’s still early. I think game by game and then we’ll see.”
